Deforestation only brings about negative repercussions. What are your views? There has been much debate over deforestation. However, as several prominent figures have pointed out, it can be socially and economically beneficial. Therefore, I ardently disagree with the testament. Tropical rainforests are a source of raw materials and fuel. Hardwood timber is used for constructing houses, boats and furniture, it is also known that the timber industry is extremely lucrative. Moreover, softwood is made into pulp for making paper. The latex and resins collected from trees are used for making tires as well as paint, and tree bark is used for making bottle corks, dyes and walling materials. To add on, the demand is high. Thus, by clearing rainforests, there is much to be earned and the economy is also subsequently boosted, on a local, regional and global scale. More food sources may be conjured from cleared land. Arable land is valuable, and the act of deforestation to clear a place for farm land provides a much needed additional food source for mankind. The soil in a forest is much more fertile than that of regular farm lands because of the wide variety of life it supports as well as the nutrients present in it. The newly cleared area can be used for agricultural purposes, and provides a much needed place to grow a food supply, which is essential in providing for the world’s steadily expanding population. In conclusion, deforestation can induce positive and fruitful after-effects. In the long term, the added food sources will most definitely be of use to humanity. On the other hand, the economic profits gained from the timber and wood industry will encourage trade between countries and provide jobs for people all around the world.
