My goal next school year is to be an elected official on the Parent Teacher Association. I think these ladies do so much for our school and do not receive the credit they deserve. Maybe having a male teacher on their staff will enhance their position within the school setting. Some of the benefits of the structural frame are the friendships I have established with many of the staff members. This coming school year, we will be losing 14 staff members who will follow my old principal to her new school.
In September writing was my biggest problem but now it has gotten much easier to punctuate and organize all my writing pieces. But on another note I feel as if I should have put more effort toward all my work I did, I never hit those A+ grades everyone said I should have gotten so next year I will do everything in my power to prove them right because I know I can do better I just need another chance next year. All the strategies I was taught will stay with me forever I will use them through high school and even collage because they helped me and others
When George, Sam, and Rameck were in University High, they didn’t have teachers that were motivated. “We had a few dedicated teachers at the high school who pushed us to learn and forced us to do our work, but too many others just didn’t know how to reach us and didn’t seem to care” (59). The teachers don’t have the desire to help students or care, therefore, Sam, Rameck, and George's grades drop. This proved how important of a role teachers play on a student's academic life. If the teachers didn’t care about their education, how would you expect students to stay in school when the teachers don’t care whether they attend or not.
Their perspective on how the underachieved educational system is, alongside my encounters with complex of schooling. In high school, we are given many standards every day that we must meet in order to be considered successful, but the reality is; these standards are fruitless in expectation for colleges and universities. In high school I did not get the English composition skills, to prepare me for my college courses. They are right about their belief that the professors in the universities are very inspired in some ways to give their standards to the students in depth knowledge to set higher standards, however, it is not good to know that some high school students still enter Americas elite schools through remedial process, because it might agitate the worldwide standards set by the school
There isn’t a viable reason not to implement it, and the few cons are outweighed by the pros. By using year-round school, both students and teachers would have access to school that is both rewarding and relaxing. A recent study compared sixty-four school variables, such as attendance, grades, discipline, and test scores, among year-round schools and traditional schools. The results showed that fifty-four of the sixty-four tested variables were more prominent in year-round schools (Chaika). If schools just gave the year-round calendar a chance, they are almost guaranteed to love it.
I spent a whole year in a public school called Leuzinger. I spent my time building up my resume and grades so that once I tried again I would hands down have no problems. So mid-year my grades came out and I had received over a 3.6 GPA to make the Honor Roll. I would constantly see Serra in the newspaper winning championships. This had something i wanted and I knew that I could obtain it as long as I applied myself properly.
Having those people show how school has provided them with success motivates the students whether they are college bound or not. It is this piece of collaboration that could make or break a student’s choice to stay in school. (Guinter,2011) These high school students must volunteer ten hours in the community as part of the graduation requirement. If possible, providing volunteer opportunities where these high school students may see how fortunate they are would be a way to improve collaboration. The non-profit agencies are usually in need of volunteers.
Returning to school is important in order to have a good career, and get a degree. The first reason, I chose to return to school was to get my degree.
