A GPA is an average of the grades accumulated by a student throughout his/her high school career. If a student doesn’t know their GPA they won’t know their rank in the class. If the school district switches to pass fail colleges won’t be able to see the students GPA, which may set students up for failure in college. Meaning that some of the students that pass are low achievers and barley passed and are not prepared for college. This will ultimately set students up for further failure.
You try to make not a lot of noise somehow everyone still ends up staring as you walk out. The CAHSEE is worse because if you don't pass, you won't graduate. Congratulations LAUSD, you've managed to make our lives even more stressful than they already are. Some may see the CAHSEE as easy as ABCs but not everyone does. I think the CAHSEE is out of the question, there's already other tests in the end of year to make sure we're learning.
The ethical issues that regard the high stakes testing is that it could be unfair to some students. Students with disabilities, students who speak English as a second language, students who have testing anxiety, etc. could all do badly on the tests. If they cannot pass the tests, they wont be able to graduate. The testing should be equal for all students and their varying
Devin Dufrene Essay 4 April 14, 2009 Failure Failure! Some students are afraid of it, Then again some students are given grades and passed anyway. Students should not be given grades and diplomas if they did not learn the necessary information and earn the grade. In this essay I will respond on how I agree with Mary Sherry in “In Praise of the F Word “on how students are hurt later in life First, if student doesn’t learn necessary information in high school he or she will not be able or having a lot off trouble in the after life with college or there new job. In example, if a student gets by in his English class not caring and not trying to learn, but his teacher likes the student so he passed him, when that student goes to college he will have trouble because he doesn’t know how to write a correct essay because he was given the grade.

As in the article “Student Expectations Seen as Causing Grade Disputes” by Max Roosevelt, it is understandable that the students will want to receive a high grade for putting in an extreme amount of effort; although most teachers and/or professors don’t see it that way. They see it as your paper must be error free in order to receive the highest grade possible. To students creating the perfect paper seems impossible, even if they have all the right points and arguments. Furthermore, the teachers/professors really don’t know how much effort the student has put into the paper so they couldn’t grade on effort. For some students it may come naturally to just be able to create great essays so for them it seems to be a breeze.
The whole process surprised me because in other schools such as high school it is not so intense. If you are in trouble or accused of doing something wrong in school the principle pretty much decides if you are guilty or not after you have given your side of the story. I can understand why the University of Phoenix follows this type of process though, that way it is a fair trial in a sense and a student has a chance to defend him or herself. What did you learn about the behaviors considered important for an ethical learner or student in the University of Phoenix learning community? The behaviors that I learned to be considered important for an ethical learner are that different students will view things differently then you and depending on that type of person will depend on the outcome of a situation.
In conclusion, do what the teacher assigned me really helped me to get a good grade. As well as I got good things there are also things I've done wrong in this class. One of the things I've done wrong is to be late to class and not get all the information that the teacher has given us. This under a bit of my grade as attendance and being on time are also part of the grade. Also does not participate in class is something I've done wrong because this helps you a lot to get a good grade.
If caught cheating, you will get a 0 on the homework and automatically have your course grade lowered by at least one whole grade (i.e., from a B to a C). If you are caught using someone else’s file a second time, you will fail the course. If you cheat or try to cheat on an exam, you will fail the
