it would have been place into real estate like may be selling house it could have been a good job ,profession. ya, may be it would give us more income but this one is just so horrible. i am really struggling and doing some small jobs. Therapist : So you are thinking that if he goes on to some real estate business then your standard of living would have been lifted and you should not be struggling with your assignments, you shouldn’t be sticking up with this job that you are having right now so can you tell me are you happy with your work that you are doing? or what do you feel about it? paraphrasing/ active listening/ open questions CBT the answers my client was giving was based on automatic thoughts that triggered me the most at that point of time. She was making assumptions like “if my father was in real estate business then our condition would have been changed” but you never know what might happen.
