Basically, the public policy process is used in stages to ensure the government takes responsibility and responds appropriately on behalf of the public. Although, policy is not black and white, there are many gray areas in need of improvement, regulation and revision to best support our diversities and communities country wide. Thorough examination is critical when identifying and outlining the problem within the public policy process. During the examination of the problem first one must recognize that an issue exists.

Abstract It can be said that grief, in response to the death of a loved one, is a universal occurrence that crosses all cultural borders. There are however some aspects of grief that differ cross-cultural due to attitudes, beliefs, and practices of that particular group of people. The rituals and ceremonies during the time of grief differ greatly throughout the world. In this paper four societies, the Yanomamö, the Navajo Indians, the Kalapalo Indians, and the Lugbara will be considered to gain a better understanding of the differences of death rituals among indigenous cultures. What underlying factor leads to the particular death rituals that are performed during the grieving process?

The Indians were depicted to be very violent by the colonists. In total, the Native American hold some similarities to the colonists such as their religiousness, they are very family oriented and take pride in their land and chose to fight to try and keep it. In close, three themes were prominent in the writing style of Jill Lepore’s book In The Name Of War. Puritan identity, language and literacy, and Native American identity were these key points. Lepore describes each key person and their role in the war as either villain or hero based on the side at which they are fighting.
