Clearly, this leaves the application of the law open to the officer’s interpretation and own personal judgment. In return, this puts many American citizens at risk. Someone may look like a citizen from Mexico and be a US born citizen with every right to be in the US. Why should that individual be questioned and required to produce immigration documents because he or she does not have blond hair or

They are upset that because of all the illegal immigrants their own rights are being suppressed because of the new laws being forced onto immigrants. As one states in this article, "We come here to work in the land of the free, but the best and the brightest of us are finding themselves prisoners of statutory walls," said Vivek Gupta, 39, a neuroradiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and a former medical resident at Yale University. "I have received awards for my teaching and skills, yet I am forbidden to get federal research grants, and I have to renew my visa year after year after year."
This paper will attempt to answer this question. Other discussions within this paper will be such as who are considered illegal immigrants and why are they in the United States. I will also discuss an employer’s role and responsibility towards the illegal immigrants. This paper will also discuss the Immigration Reform and Control Act and how it affects and/or whether it helps the illegal immigrants and how it compares to the National Labor Relations Act as far as whether illegal immigrants should be protected under this Act. Illegal immigrants is one term used to describe anyone who is not a national or citizen of a country (in this case the country referred to is the United States) and/or those who are residing in the country without the legal documentation needed (ww.usimmigrationsupport.org/irca.html).

Many people believe that ICE’s program is good because they’re able to catch criminals who are immigrants and it only does justice for a community. The law requires Arizona police officers to question any one they reasonably suspect of being an illegal alien. Police officers would have the legal right to stop and question anyone who they suspected was an illegal alien and ask for their immigration status. Officers would have the legal right to detain individuals who cannot provide proof of their legal status. Rather than periodically physically raiding places of employment they regularly and consistently check employment records and compare them to federal databases. This approach provides on-going monitoring at less cost then the previous program of periodic raids. (“Immigration: In the Vanguard”, 1999, p. 32) In simplest terms illegal aliens are illegal and like any crime their presence must be controlled.
These feelings of hatred arose when the Japanese began to move into the United States in search for work industries on the West Coast. Upon there arrival, they encountered racist reactions from many Americans. The Americans believed that the Japanese were stealing jobs and lowering wages. Many laws were passed that openly discriminated against Asians, Japanese in specific. Many of these laws stated that Japanese could not become citizens of the United States and could not hold basic rights.
There can be no comparison with the people I interviewed and the understanding of the Cold War because most people I talked to did not understand what it meant. If everyone took History classes, you would think the Cold War would have been studied in high school or college along with the other major wars from history. I was amazed that folks did not know what the Cold War was and the meaning behind it. I did not know what it meant either, until after reading about it. I could have studied about it in History class in high school, but that has been over 40 years ago and honestly I do not remember what all was covered.
