Is there such a thing as an ideal job? The word “ideal” varies from person to person, based on their needs, desires, dreams and life goals. It takes a lot of effort and energy to research different career options, and knowing what I wanted was a timesaver. Taking time to really think back on past jobs and what I liked or disliked about each one, has lead me to what I believe to be the ideal job; nursing. My past experiences and frustrations have not only prepared me for the future, but encouraged me to set personal expectations for the career I chose. Though there are a number of different areas in the nursing field, I find that money, benefits, ethical behaviors and my interest are all interchangeable within the areas of nursing.
To survive, one must have the basic essentials and that takes money. The starting income for nursing is around $55,000 yearly with the possible of quarterly bonuses, providing for my basic essentials’. The two important essentials, food and clothing would never have to be a toss-up between the two. I would have my dream home, a beautiful natural log cabin featuring three bedrooms, two full baths, a cozy living room w/fireplace and a two car garage; sitting on an acre of green grass with a mixture of trees. Parked inside the two car garage would be my daughters’ 2011 silver Chevrolet Equinox and my 2011 blue Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4WD, providing us with reliable transportation. My income would allow me to help my daughter, Trisha with some of her expenses towards college, while at the same time paying classes to me current and valuable in my field. Being considered “valuable” brings up my pay, opens new doors, lessens financial worries and gives me the sense of freedom.
