Running head: INTERVIEW PROJECT 1 Interview Project Matthew Baxley Kaplan Univeristy CJ100: Eight Skills of the Effective Criminal Justice Student INTERVIEW PROJECT 2 I have always wondered what it takes to be an officer of the law. My father was a police officer in our home town of Atlanta but transferred to the Army shortly after I was born. I have had a sensitive spot for law enforcement and did my best to try and respect them the way I would as if my father was still an active police officer. Oddly enough as time goes on I find myself leaning back to this profession and have recently had the chance to come into contact with Deputy Sheriff Malcolm Murray and get a better sense of things from his own personal views and ideas about the law from his point of view. Deputy Murray is a large man with a very intimidating stature.
Inclusive learning should promote positive behaviour and conduct. A teacher needs to recognise that learner comes with different learning styles and needs. Maslow stated unless certain need are met the learner cannot progress. Malsow ‘s hierarchy of needs theory is: Learners needs have to to be met in order for leaners to be involved and focused on their learning. For individual learning styles to be met, within a good learning sessions a teacher will ensure he/she takes a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this way each learner can work to the best of their ability.

If there are more good programs that would work for these inmate and guide them throughout, each individual should have the responsibility to complete the program and earn something from it. Although, you cannot force an individual to get into the program, at least we should offer the good programs to those who are willing to educate
Unit one in this class first involved the class picking values we thought were important to make a caring learning environment. As we shared our reasons for picking the values on a discussion board, the class was involved in cooperative learning. In other words, we helped others evaluate their own values by providing input and suggestions. In this way, I believe this section in particular of Unit one and the discussion boards in general addressed our continuing professional development: TPE 13. Another aspect of Unit one was identifying and categorizing our intelligences.
Both of these types of a journey help to produce a lesson that either helps the individual or a collective of people to understand many lessons of life. Gilgamesh’s journey helped to understand that he should live his life to the fullest. Gawain’s journey showed the importance of understanding the outcomes of challenging situation before accepting it, respect with honor, and mortal humility. Dante’s journey helped him to understand the qualities of the process of becoming Godlike. Beowulf’s journey showed how someone would go out their way to save other’s lives. This paper will show how each characters going through these expeditions helped to teach them a lesson about themselves or on worldly nature.
The volunteers at the Salvation Army are important to fulfilling the pledge to America of “Doing the Most Good” (The Salvation Army, 2013) as they work as partners in helping. They work to help keep the program running. Their volunteers contribute to ensure the program is running effectively and providing more funding to help run the program. As a part of the Salvation Army’s after school program providing tutoring and help with homework, “local police officers serve as volunteers, helping provide positive influences and building relationships within the community” (Salvation Army Blog, 2013). Other volunteers must qualify and meet the age of 16 and be cooperative “to work with children, with homework, play games, read or assist with arts and crafts projects” (Syracuse Area Services,
The residential community corrections traditionally was to help the inmates who were soon to be on parole reintegrate back into society, by finding jobs, saving money, getting an apartment and getting clothes for the job. It has expanded by now being a direct-sentencing option that judges can give to certain offenders who need an alternative that is between a stay in prison and traditional probation. The effectiveness of this program isn’t that great, with evaluations results that clients were more than likely to be arrested. One reason for the failure was there was an overwhelming amount of inmates were placed in the treatment which meant that many of the clients there were
"(Charles 2010). I realize the importance of parole. I am for parole because it gives the offender an opportunity to re-establish their selves within the community. Upon completion of community service and treatment the community will receive an offender who for the most part changed their lives for the better. I know the chance of recidivism
A police officer is a person who puts their life in danger everyday as a duty to the citizen of their neighborhood. They should be respected, honored, and commended for their efforts in ensuring our security. Now, what actions should we as citizens take, if that very same person is the one invading and conflicting our safety? Police brutality has been a non going issue for many years, and as the very people they are sought out to shelter, it is time we make sure the job gets done. For a long time, silence has been the only option and today my essay today is going to be the voice for every victim.
