I could scream with happiness In the article: ”I could scream with happiness” we hear about a girl who have won a battle against her school. The battle was about if she made or if she made not wear jilbab in school. According to the girl the school did not give her the right to express her religion, while the jilbab is a very important thing in her life as a Muslim. The girl is not just doing this for herself, but also for a lot of other girl, who also have the right to wear jilbab in school. And when she won, she felt so happy for all the girl around the country. The author Dilpazier Aslam was born in 1978, he is a former journalist. In July 2005 he came to public attention, because he lost his position with newspaper after being named as a member of the islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir. Aslam is a member of the group by bloggers who have read his Comment article on the July 7 London bombing. Before he joined “The Guardian” he had written 3 articles for a website that is closely connected to Hizb ut-Tahrir. The author engages the reader by telling the story from the girl side. We hear about how the school has denied her to express her religion (Line 9). How the school has refused her request to wear the jilbab, and that she was excluded, becoming the reluctant poster girl of a campaign that has been reported in 137 counties (Line 1-14). What it did to the girl in the social life, how people look at her and recognized her (Line 15-19). That the school still denied her to wear the jilbab, even do it say that the school has a 79% Muslim intake and it is says in the statement that it takes into account the cultural and religious sensitivities of the pupils. Then why is it such a big problem to let her wear the jilbab? (Line 20-23). When we read the story, we get the feeling that it is all the school who is the bad “guy”.
