Human reliance on technology Technology has a profound effect on how individuals conduct themselves in everyday life. In today's world, technology is essential. There is technology everywhere you go. Technology influences almost everything by bringing about a great level of convenience. It allows us to communicate around the world, find answers online through the internet, transportation, medicine; technology is everywhere. While the expansion of technology is astonishing, many people have become completely reliant on what technology can do for them, instead of what they can achieve for themselves. Technology was once an exciting additive to our world, but slowly it has transformed into an essential component to our lives. As technology continues to improve, it has begun to replace our existing human abilities. The extent to which technology has improved in the past century allows everyday answers to be found much more quickly and easily then was possible in the past. With this new convenience, humans are becoming more and more lazy. In the past, people would always go out to meet and chat but as the use of technology increases, people would prefer connecting with family and friends online rather than face-to-face communication. Advances in medicine has cured many diseases, but also developed antibiotics for small or common flues. This has weakened our immune systems and with this many people now rely on medication to fight off small ailments rather than leave it to our bodies. A person's quality of life may have surpassed that of any previous generation and human life expectancy may be longer than ever before, because of technological advances but modern technology has also eliminated the need for people in many jobs.
