It was the ultimate act of friendship and sacrifice, on George's part, to kill Lennie. He knew that Lennie would be lynched and hung for murdering Curley's wife. He also knew that Lennie didn't know any better, he had no idea the power of his own strength, he did not fully know the ramifications of what he had done, but he did know that it was bad and that he might get into trouble. George basically spared Lennie from a death filled with pain and suffering and Lennie almost had this moment of clarity when he knows what George has to do and he's ok with it. 3.
In addition, in 3.1 Romeo murdered Tybalt to avenge the death of Mercutio by saying “Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.” (3.1. line 129). This implies that Romeo held a grudge against Tybalt for killing his own friend. This grudge motivated Romeo to kill Tybalt which then motivated Paris to fight Romeo in 5.3. This cycle of hatred between the two families is also what caused the fight scene in 1.1 where the Capulets and Montagues saw each other, then spat rude comments at each other
She may have felt guilty as she thought the norms would find out that she killed the man and then they would kill her. David and Petra are the ringleaders in the escape. “If we were to survive, we must keep our true self hidden…” When Petra was drowning, David and Rosalind heard her cries through their minds, which then made them fear more, as people were being suspicious as no-one else heard her. Then they had to fear Petra, as they realized her powers were much too strong for her and she was too young to fully understand it.
Father, Gods and Goddesses. If you hear me, listen to my words, especially you father. My hands have just been soiled by murder. Murder done by wrath and love. Wrath and anger for the murder this girl has committed.
Now, with Kreon hearing the proof of what Antigone has done, he's angered more than ever. He wants to make her suffer, as if he's taking a chance he's always wanted. Taking his anger out on Antigone for the pain her father Oedipus has caused him in the past; Eteocles and Polyneices being dead he thought he had nothing to worry about. Ismene had known of the crime, in this case Kreon takes the opportunity to punish her as well. Towards the society, seeing women being faced with death and torture could turn them against Kreon, also for knowing Antigone was only doing so to protect her own
Next, she is in denial she still believes that john proctor still loves her that he still cares for her. She says this in a creepy tone, “You loved me John Proctor, and whatever sin it, you love me yet” (146). Her morals are all confused not caring for the sins that she has committed is the exact opposite of hoe they raised their children something is just wrong. Lastly, she is willing to kill anybody who stands between her especially Goody Proctor, John Proctors wife; also the other girls that she leads in a messed up cult. She says this as if she were the reaper herself, “let either of you breathe a word, or an edge of a word, about the other things and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and pierce you” (144).
She will be the man here” (519). This quote explains Kreon’s irritation on Antigone. The very moment Antigone buries her be loving brother’s body Kreon wants to take action with killing her because she disobeyed his law also Antigone’s sister, Ismene, because Kreon believes she was part of it too. Kreon believes if he does not kill Antigone he will no longer be one of the best rulers that people will look up too. This quote is important because it explains how Kreon begins to commit hubris.
For example, he is responsible for the death of Mercutio, which causes a vengeful spark to rise in Romeo. After Tybalt stabs Mercutio he turns to Romeo and says, “I am hurt. A plague on both your houses” (121). Tybalt killing Mercutio is one of the actions that lead up to the death of Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt had no reason for fighting with him.
Maria gets the message that her brother is dead and that her love has killed him. She prays that it is not true. Tony shows up at her house outside her window and starts screaming at him that he is a killer. Then he calms her down and tells her that bernardo killed riff first who was like a brother to tony. Anita tries to convince maria that tony has no heart and is going to leave
One reason why I chose that it was an ultimate act of betrayal is because it’s very mean to shoot and kill your best friend. That’s called being a traitor. When you are suppose to be their for your friend, you cant jus turn around and stab them in the back. Just picture it like this, put yourself into George’s position and put one of your best friends into
