Maria Diaz “The Neuroscience of Animals and Humans” In researching the behavior and cognitive neuroscience I came across the way humans and animals interact socially. This social neuroscience has been suggested to play a role in the way of improving human health, reducing pain, and helping with emotional distress or depression. Many times people are triggered by emotions or situations in which they do not know how to react and sometimes makes them act out in un-socially accepted ways. Certain animals can teach us the right way to perform around other humans, and animals, and teach us the right behavior and emotions depicted in their brain as to how we should behave. I have had interactions with different types of animals all throughout my life and these relationships have helped me form bonds that I could never dream of experiencing. To know why maybe a fish interacts with a human differently than a cat or a dog would is an interesting connection to understand. But, when there are instances where a person has an extraordinary interaction with an eel that can create a physical and emotional bond with a human being just like any other animal, with more brain cells than a mouse, is where these bizarre relationships sometimes cease understanding. Neuroscience can help understand the way that human and animal minds work together to form these magical connections. . The neuroscience of our brain and the way it creates memories and interaction relies all in the neurology of the brain and the way it adapts to memory and learning. Many times humans do not even know what triggers behavior changes in humans let alone animals and because of this many animals are used as test subjects in labs where they can be probed and poked into seeing what cause certain reactions, like sadness, love, or anger. Sleep is also a great factor into how our brain forms and uses its
