Abstract The purpose of this paper is to inform the reader about the three alternative decision-making sequences limited decision making, routine decision making and complex decision making. Furthermore the understanding and steps of the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. In this report you will learn about each decision making process as well as the steps of Maslow hierarchy of needs. Describe which of the three alternative decision-making sequences is being used in each of the following situations. Explain your choice. 1. The 25-year old, healthy worker who sees the same physician for minor medical needs. The decisions that fix this situation are routine decision making. This decision involves reputation; the 25 year old does not go to any other physician so this shows repetition. Also this shows loyalty to physician. The 25 year decision making process was very easy, they always go to the same physician this shows that she made a routine decision. I don’t blame them especially if the doctor has been doing a good job. According to Merriam Webster dictionary routine means a regular course of procedure. So I feel that no other decision making situation would fit this one but the routine decision making process. 2. The retired individual who calls the state medical society and seeks a second opinion prior to open-heart surgery. This situation is a Complex decision making which means there is a high involvement and extended search. This scenario shows that the retired individual seeks a second opinion prior to open-heart surgery so this is evidence that individual sought out another opinion. This shows what kind of character the person is. According to Merriam Webster complex indicates that a whole made up of complicated or interrelated parts. This definition really describe the retiree, they must have a second opinion before the surgery. 3.
