The world population is growing faster than food can be produced. There are many countries that are starving because they can’t produce food. Some countries lack the money for research, education, or the land space. All across the world people are starving to death and this is the century that needs to fix it. There are countries like the U.S., Japan, and China that can educate other countries. The real problem is how some countries treat agriculture. They act as if it doesn’t matter and they rely more on the city to make money to buy food. There are many ways that agriculture can be changed but society has to give it a chance. The easiest way may not just be enough; it has to go beyond to solve hunger.
I believe that there are many ways to solving hunger. One way is through educating others countries. The U.S. is educated in fertile soil, pesticides, and much more. We should be helping other countries like Peru or Haiti who can’t afford to educate their people. Haiti lacks the cultivated land due the all the mountains they have (Haggerty, 1989). They need to find a way to make what little land they have very productive. The land they can use is not good. They don’t use inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, machinery, or irrigation (Haggerty, 1989). Much of these items can’t work for them or they can’t afford them. They have nearly 130 irrigation systems, but many lack up to date maintenance, clogged with silk, or provide irregular water supplies (Haggerty, 1989).   With all of these issues Haiti is need of help. The U.S. can help along with other strong counties. We are a nation and if one a country is need of help then other countries should give it. It is the country’s leader’s job to work out and resolve problems with other countries. Haiti’s government isn’t much of a help when it comes to agriculture.
