Elizabeth Navarro Composition 1 November 13, 2013 The “Natural” States California and Arkansas are two uniquely beautiful states that share more differences than similarities at first sight. I lived in Los Angeles, California until the age of ten and moved to Russellville, Arkansas. The scenery was a complete shock I had never experienced such a place such as Russellville. All my life I was accustomed to the life of a larger city, and now here I was in a little town in the middle of nowhere. Arkansas is known for being the “natural” state, but I believe California has much more than it’s beautiful scenery.

Jerrica Fair English 101 September 16, 2012 As citizens of Arizona, I believe we all know how serious border patrol has become when we travel to other states or venture down south to Mexico. With that being said, I have traveled to California numerous times but during the summer of 2010 it seemed that if it weren’t for bad luck I would have no luck at all. That year, traveling to San Diego took our weekend trips to a whole new level. How could a trip that had so many memorable experiences like staying on an army base, touring a ship with all kinds of old planes and relaxing on a beach turn into one of those trips you’d rather forget about? Well, the answer to that would be having your vehicle break down on the way there and on the way

Some people think the melting of the glaciers are results of global warming. However, living here on Earth there have been warmer winters than usually, so in my own personal opinion I would agree with this theory. Although snow which is accumulated during the winter months is sure to melt and continue to add to the nation’s water. However, the warmer winter is a huge involvement in melting of glaciers which
Western Films and “The Hidden Fortress” Samurai films draw a strong influence from the Western films. Kurosawa, the director of “The Hidden Fortress”, admitted that John Ford, the director of the most popular Western films ever made, played a fundamental role on his filmmaking style. Besides that both directors have many things in common, and despite that they both managed to defy the conventions of seamless realism, their work were always accepted in the Classical Hollywood studios. Kurosawa was an avid user of elements of the natural world, -such as rain, fog, rivers, wind and trees-, in his mise-en-scene. Also, landscapes played an important role in his compositions.
Snow vs. Rain When looking at the covers of travel magazines for certain particular states, for example, Colorado, Utah, and Washington, the pictures are usually show snow-capped mountains with a skier, skiing down the mountain looking like they are having a great time. Whereas, looking at travel magazines for Midwestern or Southern states, you see pictures of Luscious green land with bright and beautiful scenery sometimes after a delicate rain. But what do snow and rain really have in common? According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, the definition of snow is, “precipitation in the form of small white ice crystals formed directly from the water vapor of the air at a temperature below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.” Whereas, rain is defined as, “water falling in the drops condensed from vapor in the earth’s atmosphere.” There are many similarities and differences to rain and snow because of formation, destruction, weather apparel, and kids enjoyment.
