How to balance studies and part time jobs Realistically many students will have to work to fund their education (Frost 2008). Part time jobs help them to develop their skills and experience that graduate employers are looking for. However, it is important that students have to manage their time, to ensure that part time jobs do not affect their academic studies (White 2011). To balance their studies and part time jobs, students must develop a study plan, choose their jobs smartly and manage stress. Firstly, student must develop a study plan. It is important that they have enough time for study (Knapp 2013). When they receive their course timetable, they must drawing up a weekly study timetable that can help them to focus on their studies. They must determine which day they are available for study or work. They must always stick to their study plan as they have fewer hours to study (Safina 2012). Apart from that, students must choose their jobs wisely (White 2011). They must choose the jobs that are flexible and fit in with their study plan. They are not recommended to take part time jobs that are too mentally demanding or tiring because that will overwork them (Safina 2012). Working in short durations can help students to have more time to study (Gopaul 2010). Lastly, student must manage their stress as stress is an inevitable part of being a student and worker (Knapp 2013). Taking regular breaks and staying physically active will help students to avoid burning themselves out. A brief period of outdoor time is an ideal way to keep stress under control (Gopaul 2010).
