The information will help me get through my school and finish assignments on time. Also it will help me manage my time and stay on top of all of my classes. Getting through my first year at college will be hard but if I stay organized and focused I will reach my goals and succeed. To be a better student I need to seek extra help and use the resources on campus more often. I need to set goals in each one of my classes and stay focused and put my school work first.
STUDENTS LEARNING OUTCOME Rock Valley College have been and will continue to help student graduate or continue their education with the best knowledge of the student learning outcome also knowing as SLO. The six SLO are Communicate effectively, Integrate technology into all fields of knowledge and expression, Demonstrate competency in critical thinking, Respect and work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds and abilities, Demonstrate the behaviors of ethical and socially responsible citizens, and last one is Demonstrate personal wellness. In the real world SLO is very important; u might not need to learn all of them, but at least most, RVC knows that’s important for the real world, career and life we as student choose. Upon completion of the RVC, we as students should be able to recognize and understand SLO and master it. What is SLO?
My students will develop a community that respects each other in the classroom as well as out of the classroom. Once these goals have been met I feel that the rest of the year will be smooth sailing! (Gallagher, 1999-2012). In the field of education, good classroom management is essential ( Froyer & Iverson, 1999) . Encouraging and establishing student self-control through a process of promoting positive student achievement and behavior is what every classroom needs.
Most students don’t want to disappoint their teacher and having to appeal to the teacher for not having the homework turned in on time, So they will make sure to keep up with their work and what is expected of them. By having requirement like due date allows students to be mindful of prioritizing and time management. For teachers, building these bonds with students helps to develop an extensive repertoire of strategies, tools and methods
While this statements sound so simplistic, it’s really being lost in the world of teaching. While trying to keep up with testing standards and needs of students, we as teachers must make sure that we are not creating ignorant thinkers. By allowing certain behaviors to occur without consequences the teacher is sending the message that it is okay. This can cause the students to lose focus and a decrease in understanding of the lesson being taught. It can also allow chaos to reign supreme. Disruptions can also make other students feel threatened. Students must feel safe and secure in their class in order to learn and grow in education.

Setting goals, knowing your learning style, using available resources, and learning critical thinking will help to ensure your academic success. Everyone needs some kind of structure in their lives or it would be total confusion. Setting goals and keeping them is a good start to keep order in your life. Staying focused on your goals will allow you to see your future better.
It helps students acquire the critically thinking skills needed to succeed once they are done with high school. With the Common core standards the use of common language to help students know and understand what they are learning is beneficial. Another thing that common core standards are good for, if they are implemented throughout the United States, is that no matter where a student lives and or moves to they will not be behind as everyone will have the same framework to use. The result will be an easier transition from one school to another school, academically speaking. Along with positives for the students, there are positives for the teacher’s also.
In my theory, an effective teacher must also be willing to change and adapt lesson plans based on the needs of the students. This requires good decision-making skills so that a teacher can chose what is best for the student and that will reap the most rewards. Test-taking is also important to this theory because tests must be appropriate for all learners.
