How to Make Key Lime Pie Has one ever been asked to bring a dessert dish to a party at the last minute? Well, the following recipe should take no longer than an hour and will definitely satisfy the guests. No one will believe this restaurant-style Key lime pie was created from such a simple recipe, but they will be requesting it after taking their first bite. Now apply one’s apron and begin baking a Key lime pie. First, gather all the ingredients and cooking utensils needed. One will need a nine inch springform pan for baking the pie, a blender for mixing the Key lime filling, a small mixing bowl, and mixing utensils. For the graham cracker crust, the following ingredients are needed: four tablespoons of sugar, nine whole graham crackers and four tablespoons of melted butter. For the Key lime filling gather the following: half a cup of egg yolks, one-eight ounce package of softened cream cheese, two and a half cups of sweetened condensed milk, and three-fourths a cup of Key lime juice. Now start with the graham cracker crust. The first step in preparing a Key lime pie is making the graham cracker crust. At this time one should pre-heat their oven to 325 degrees. While the oven is pre-heating, place the nine graham crackers in a baggie, and crush them into small crumbs by rolling a rolling pin over the bag. Then, combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar together in a Lampson 2 small mixing bowl. Next, melt the butter and add to the crumb mixture, making sure to mix well. After combining the ingredients together, spread the mixture over the bottom of the ungreased springform pan. The mixture should be firmly pressed down on the bottom of the pan to compact the crust.
