Baking a cake only involves four main steps: first, gather the materials needed; second mix and bake the cake; third frost the cake; and fourth, enjoy the cake. By following these four simple steps baking a red velvet cake is real easy. First, gather all the materials needed to make the cake. These include 1 ½ cups of sugar, 2 eggs,1 ½ cup vegetable oil, 1tsp vinegar and vanilla flavoring, shift 2 ½ cups of swanson flour, 1tsp cocoa and baking soda, ½ tsp. salt, 1cup buttermilk, and red food coloring. Lay the items out on the counter so they are easy to get to. Have a bowl and mixer out as well. And now you are ready to bake. Baking and mixing is a straightforward process. Next put the ingredients in a bowl and begin to mix on medium speed. Once it begins to look smooth then it’s time to pore it into a baking pan. Next put it in the oven for a half hour. Once it is done stick a toothpick in the middle to see if the inside is done. Once the cake is done, let it stand and let it cool. When the cake is done cooling make it look appeasing to not only the eye but to the stomach. The frosting should not be a flavor that may not taste right with the cake, make sure that the frosting fits the cake. The frosting should be nice and thick, the icing should not be melting, if this happens let it stand longer it is still too warm.
