The first thing interesting about Johnny is how he is an unlikely hero. We see this when Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally save several young children from a burning church. When the school teacher finds out they are greasers, he is very suprised. The greasers are seen as lawless individuals, not the type of people who would save people’s lives. Johnny's actions were extremely heroic, pushing Ponyboy through the window at the last second.
As Mike ran he heard the sound of cracking under his feet. He stopped. All of the sudden the floor gave out and Charlie ran after him to try and save him. The whole in the floor was covered in flames and there was no chance of saving Mike, but Charlie was still going to try. Mike and Charlie had been good friends since Mike had been hired by the fire department.
Whereas, the main character of TLNOTW is quite content about life, considerate, and patient. Even through the inevitable thought that the world is going to end, he remains calm, and goes about his normal everyday life, as if it's never going to occur. The most probable purpose as to why Ray Bradbury has made these stories and personalities so diverse is to create an interesting variety in his work; to keep readers hooked, rather than just the same type of story all the time. Another obviously different quality between the two characters, is their speech. Like his personality, the main character of TLNOTW's voice is very calm and pleasant; he never once raised his voice in concern of the worlds end.
I like to make people laugh and always enjoy putting a smile on someone’s face. Overall I see myself as a caring person who doesn’t always show it but has an easy to get along with personality. My Myers-Briggs personality type is ENFJ. ENFJ is an idealist or a teacher. The E stands for extraverted as in I’m focused more on the external world rather than my internal world.
He’s also very spiritual and believes that there could be a bad spirit/curse on the island, that the island is alive and haunting them. However he is the calmest of the four potential leaders. In the end I believe that Ralph would be the best choice of leader for the group of boys on the island as he has more going for him, and less against him. His wide range of abilities set him apart from the others as the best candidate for
They will always depend on people to help them with day to day tasks in which they show affection as a way to express their wants, needs, and gratitude. Autistic children are generally very independent people not wanting to be touched or bothered however this is not always the situation. One of the most famous portrayals of an autistic person is that of “Rainman” played by Dustin Hoffman. This story is not that far from the truth. Even though this is a story about a person with severe autistic characteristics the real life “Rainman” did have a very good relationship with his father.
In the book a Separate Peace, I think that the title stands for freedom or an outcast cause of the way that the war does not seem to affect Devon like it affects other places in America. The war does not seem to touch Devon or the kids until Leper goes crazy after enlisting, and Finny dies. But before that Gene and Finny don't believe that the war is real they think that it is fake and just a way to get money. So A Separate Peace is meant to mean that Devon is like in the shadows of the war, so while the kids are in Devon they don't feel any sense of the war. It also makes the war seem so easy, but as we find out after Leper goes AWALL Gene and Finny actually finds out that the war is real.
He was constantly giving orders and wouldn't take advice from others because he thought he was too good and didn't need it. Johnny accepted John Hancock’s request to have a silver sugar basin made in time for his wife’s birthday. With the deadline almost near, Dove was told to fetch a crucible for Johnny. Dove was older than Johnny, but was treated inferior by him. Dove then decided he would teach Johnny a lesson so he reached to the back of the shelf for the cracked crucible and gave it to Johnny.
Many people may argue to this statement, but we are here to show that there are studies that show it, the students know that you have to have good grades to be in sports/extracurricular activities. Having good grades can lessen stress about affording college and give you opportunities for scholarships. Most colleges and coaches would rather have student with good grades becauses it shows that you are a more committed student and harder worker. Do you want to be that athletic that never cared about their grades only sports? Your grades prove you are able to equally balance academics and athletics, just like a balanced teeter totter.
In The Outsider, there is more than one hero. I consider ponyboy a hero. Ponyboy had done something’s that I would not have the courage to do for someone or something. He saved kids inside a burning church, people from his town even consider him a hero, and he stands by Jonny. Ponyboy went inside the church that was on fire and was about to fall to the ground to save the kids that were trapped inside.
