H Josepp History September 24, 2009 Revolutionary war Yes, the American Revolution was inevitable because the taxes that the British were introducing to the colonies were extreme. By the end of the Seven Years War (the French and Indian War) conflict was inevitable. Great Britain didn't have the money to pay for all of the expenses incurred during the war and need a way to raise money. This is when a lot of the taxes were applied on the American colonies. When the British tightened their grip by closing the port of Boston, banning any colonial assemblies, and moving out into the countryside to seize colonial militia powder and firearms, the colonies stood up and force to stop it.
