When it came around for football season again I helped him and I was getting better at what he taught me. Then before I knew it I was helping with basketball that year. That’s when I knew want I wanted to do with my life. I would to be an athletic trainer. I love sports and I love the feeling of helping people when they were hurt.
Cross Country Not many people know what a 5k or cross country is. To sum it up it’s a 3.2 mile run threw just about every terrain imaginable. It’s a race of endurance and mental strength, and anyone who is competitive would love cross country just as much as I do. I started cross country in the 7th grade and placed in varsity all the way threw 12th grade and it wasn’t a easy ride, I couldn’t even count how many 5k’s I ran but my very first 5k will always be in my mind till the day I die. As a middle school runner I mainly ran 3ks which was ran on the same course as high school but was only 1.8 miles.
Pool taught me geometry. Football and softball taught me plan making, defense, offence, continuous teamwork, and most of all socialism. All of these together made me person who wants to work as a team, if the team fails then the whole project is a wash up. 3. My fiancé is my other mentor; she has worked hard for are family for over 4 years.
Shawn Thomas was born on January 14, 1971. He lived in Walla Walla, Washington until the age of six, then migrated to Kansas. Thomas attended high school at Jayhawk-Linn. A friend got him hooked on running his senior year. They did workouts together, he said, “I thought I would be pretty good at it, so I gave it a shot.” After senior year he attended college at Emporia State University.
She spends most of the days with her brothers; well that’s who she grew up with but mainly their time is spent is at the arena, practicing for rodeos. On days she’s not at the arena preparing for rodeos, she’s at the softball field getting better at pitching or she’s at the basketball gym doing drills. Charmaine always has to be doing something just to keep her busy. When it comes to education she pushes herself to the next level, getting everything done a day before its due, just trying to become better a person not only for her but for her family. She graduated in the top three out of her class, with many awards to continue her education.
It was seven years ago when I was joining a small athletic contest in my place for young kids. I joined high jump because it was what I was best at. After passing easy stages, I met my limit 5 feet that I only jump over few times before in practicing. Seeing how easily other kids passed it, I got nerve and afraid that other kids would laugh at me if I failed. I started thinking that I should give up.
Coming out of middle school I really didn’t think I would have a chance to play high-school football. I went to school all my life in St.Francisville and for the first time in my life I was thinking about transferring to a different school. The summer of 2004 I decided that I wanted to transfer to Zachary High School and that was one of the best decision I have ever made in my life. I played football, baseball and ran track for Zachary High. After four years of athletics I had four district championships, two all-districts awards, one state award, one state championship and outstanding special team player.
I thought to myself that I had tried this whole season and that it was my first year. I told my brother my time and he said that it was okay it was my first year. When track ended I thought to myself that I still had 3 more years. This sophomore year I’m really committing myself to get a good time and beat my freshmen year time. A race is coming up this week and I hope I get a good time so I can make my brother proud.
But also my talent would enable me to be good at more than one event in track. At the end of my sophomore year, I took the decision to enter a new season with the determination to quit playing basketball and to be the best I could be on the track, so that I could get a scholarship for college. As one of the best coaches, in my eyes, Mr. Washington helped me become one of the fastest 100m through 400m runners in the state of California, by the end of my junior year in high school. I received a scholarship that would pay for all of my tuition and monthly bills while getting a college education. This is something that I wanted to happen in the sport of basketball, but Mr. Washington helped me see otherwise that my talent was meant for
Cody Thelen Professor Barton WRA 135 1 February 2012 Literacy History Growing up in a little town with many resources and connections allowed for an easy life in school throughout my 12 years growing up. Everyone knew everyone, from your friends’ mom who was your 4th grade teacher, to the raggedy janitor who everyone was scared of, everyone was connected one way or another. With such close relations and having experiences like going to Alaska for a summer with 70 of your classmates, trips down south to help with relief, multiple visits and speeches from the governor and other well known people, unbeatable teachers, and many other opportunities not many people can say they have had a chance to experience in their life time, growing
