It has been 11 years since I began to learn English. From an abecedarian to an experienced learner, I want to outline some of my opinions about how to learn English. How to get started? It may be a question for all the beginners of English. When I started my English learning I believed that English is not only 26 letters but an ancient complex language system. The most effective way of rushing into the world of English is to get the pronunciation right. Pronunciation is so important to English that it not only decides whether we can communicate in English smoothly and apply what we have learned to practical, but also have a vital influence on your attitude towards English. At the initial stage, reciting each letter to keep the word in mind may be annoying and hard to continue. On that occasion, we need to know the rule of pronunciation. The regular pattern of a certain pronunciation will help us to keep the word in mind and enable us to enjoy the happiness of reciting letters. Can I find a short cut? After a period of time, this question came into my mind. Thousands of words to be input, some of them were so similar that I can hardly identify them. Majority of people, including me, in this stage may try to find a short cut. Nevertheless, none of them would find what they want. Every word and every grammar point is a basic element of English. If you want to have a good command of English, you should forget the short cut. The 3rd stage of my L is promoting my English. After reciting a certain number of language point, I felt myself in a bottleneck. Reciting the words and doing exercises were no longer the main task of my English learning. I began do something new.
