Practicing good nutrition habits, regular physical activity, and achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight are cornerstones of health at every stage of life. Adults should consider a healthier diet and stay physically active can decrease their risk of a number of health conditions and diseases, including heart disease and diabetes. Kids on the other are more likely to reach and maintain a healthy weight, achieve normal growth and development, just as long as they have a healthy diet. More people should think about investing in going to see a nutritionist that could point them in the right direction and give them healthy tips and set up a healthy life style and eating plan to live a better life. People should also consider using a trainer or just getting advice from one to build a better life style and take the first step to becoming healthy. Following a healthy lifestyle can help you prevent overweight and obesity. Many lifestyle habits begin during childhood. Thus, “parents and families should encourage their children to make healthy choices, such as following a healthy diet.” (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2012). People who may not have the funds to purchase produce from a grocery store daily or weekly to create a healthy meal have realized this as well. Which leads them to head to their local fast food place to get a burger and shake that leads them down the road to gain weight, then become over weight, and before they know it they are overweight. Instead of heading to the fast food place as a society we should get more involved in our local farmer markets, by going directly to the source you can get amazingly healthy, locally grown, organic food for less than you can find at your supermarket. There can be other solutions to help this issue as well, such as using coupons. This is something past generation perfected, I’m sure many people thought couponing was out but that isn’t the case.
