Long years ago, William Shakespeare said “The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems and spoils” (413). Obviously, study shows that music can play with our mood, and it can even affect our daily life positively. For example, it can reduce our pain when we feel in a depression, ant it can solve some problems related to our health like insomnia. On the other hand, we do not have to understand every word in a song rather than enjoy the beauty of that song, and this is why it was named the international language. In this essay, my goal is to discuss by way of explanation the three points that have been affected by music in our lives, and which are: body skills, mental health and study life. The first point is improving our body skills. Study shows that our brains go in parallel with the beat of a song. In other words, if the song is fast, our brainwaves will react faster. As a result, this action will help us to concentrate, to think and to improve our brains. Besides, music can make our brains’ speed better; the changes of a music level improve our brains’ speed, and this action keeps working even if we turned off the song. On the other hand, music can affect not only our brains but also our heart’s beating rate. As we all know, our brain takes control of all body functions by using the nervous system. In fact, when we listen to a song, our brain reacts with the type of that song, so this action affects our breathing. It is believed that when we listen to slow music, our breathing and heart beat will react slowly, and this is what exactly doctors do in treating insomnia. The second point is that music keeps us in a good mental health. It is believed that everyone has his own problems in life; however, these problems sometimes lead us to great depressions.
