Conscience as we all know is innate in every human being. Meaning, from the moment that we born, conscience is already present in us. As we face our everyday life, conscience plays a very great role in every action and decision that we made. That is why; I consider conscience as a guiding moral direction in order for me to become a better person. As I face the obstacles that come my way, I can say that indeed conscience helps me a lot especially in the actions and decisions that I made and will be making. But I must admit that sometimes I am confused of whether the action that I am doing is really the dictates or the voice of my conscience or is it simply a product of the evil forces that try their very best to persuade me in doing “bad things”. What I am trying to say is that, yes, conscience is within us, and it is in our nature as human beings, but because of our imperfections, still, evil forces sometimes are over powering conscience. So, I can say that yes, I recognized the voice of my conscience in my daily life, but that does not necessarily mean that I am always putting into action simply because of my conscience. This is because; I am a strong believer of God. And according to St. Augustine, “ Conscience is the voice of God or Vox Dei”. Meaning, if I do trust God, then therefore I could also trust my conscience. So, we have to always bear in mind that conscience is within ourselves. What we only need to do is to practice it.
