The Mongol rule on Russia and China initially affected both civilizations in a beneficial way, but at times the economies of both civilizations were in devastating conditions. The arrival of the Mongols in Both Russia and China changed both governments juristically. Some of the changes politically were very similar. For example the
China was a country of dynastic splendor, such as the Manchu Dynasty in the 1900s, but was later on tainted by imperialism. At first, Chinese had become very advanced in many areas, like astronomy, mathematics, etc. However, due to its isolation and lack of modernization, it became weaker than the other nations. Knowing this, aforementioned nations like Japan and Europe began to spread their influence and power into China. Imperialism became a huge component of China’s history, from 1839 to 1935.
Sinicization is one of the most common doubts by historians who study about Qing Dynasty. Question like ‘How did the Manchu who were outnumbered by Han Chinese people managed to conquered and succeeded in ruling China for so long?’ lead one to wonder whether one of the reason for their success is sinicization. This doubt about sinicization has brought two historians to debate and attack each other opinion publicly. According to historian Ping Ti Ho, sinicization is undoubtedly the key to the success of Qing Dynasty but historian Evelyn S.Rawski did not agree about sinicization and argues instead that Qing was quite a multiethnic empire. In Ping Ti Ho 1967 paper, he stated 5 reasons why Qing Dynasty is one of the most important dynasty.
China has been under rule of hundreds of different emperors, all of whom provided a new addition to Ancient China's rich and intricate history. These emperors ruled during periods called "dynasties" which could span from decades to centures. Of all the ancient chinese dynasties there is only one that left a lasting impression that built the foundation for modern day China. The Qin Dynasty is the greatest dynasty in Chinese history because of the standardization of currency, writing, and measurement, the formation of China, and being the first dynasty under rule of an emperor. Of these achievements the standardization of language and measurement has definately had one of the most positive impacts.
Throughout the 19th century, American relations with China were restricted to a small but profitable trade a. The British, in competition with France, Germany, and Russia, took advantage of the crumbling Manchu dynasty to force treaties on China, creating “treaty ports” and granting exclusive trading privileges in various parts of the country. b. American attitudes toward the Chinese people reflected this confusion of motives. 2. The annexation of Hawaii and Philippines in 1898 and 1899 convinced Secretary of State Hay that the US should have announced a China policy.
I would agree that China, although powerful, is currently only a partial power and is not yet a superpower. A superpower is a powerful state that is that has immense influence on global affairs, with a dominant position in international relations. It is able to exert influence and project power on a global scale. The US and the former Soviet Union were able to fall under this category, as they were unarguably the most powerful countries of that time both militarily, economically or politically, and each of them could exert influence over many countries. Comparing to them, China lacks far behind in many aspects, especially influence, and can only be considered a partial power now.

The development of collectivism in China One of the most important values in Chinese culture is collectivism. Collectivism is a term that’s used to describe a certain idea that the group interests are more important than personal interests. It is one of the most important values in Chinese culture because Chinese are proud of being people who can “take one for the team”. Also, collectivism played very important roles in many different time periods in China. For example, there was no way ancient Chinese could have survived without really believe in collectivism and being cooperative with others.
Two of the most prominent and wealthiest countries in history are the ancient Egyptians and the early civilizations of China and while comparing the two nations leaders, it would seem obvious that a pharaoh, as a god, would be more powerful than an emperor, to which the Chinese believed was appointed to be leader by the heavens. Under the Pharaoh in the social ladder would next come nobility, then priests, scribes, artisans, farmers, and at the very bottom of the social pyramid would be the slaves, who don’t have any rights. In China, though similar in some ways to the Egyptians arrangement of classes, have more branches such as under the emperor would be the nobles, who are extended family of the emperor’s or people he has favored. Then would it would be officials, farmers, artisans and metal workers, who were respected for their skills, but merchants would be last least in the social ladder because the people of China thought that they did not contribute for the good of the country but only looked for their own gain. After reviewing the social status I think that women in Egypt have more freedom than woman in China because in Egypt the women could own or sell property, they could file for a divorce, have rights to their inheritance, and pursue legal disputes in court, while in China they have to stay at home and sew or weave, but never have a say in anything.
