Chanel Cruz DBQ Essay The end of the French and Indian war was in 1763. It was a celebration for the colonists but, they didn't know that twelve years later they would be fighting in the revolutionary war against the mother country. There were many causes of the war such as the Parliament, Stamp and Townsend Act, the Boston Massacre and growing antagonism between the American colonist and the British. That then led to the colonists not being justified and not being able to break away from Britain. One of the causes that led to the colonist not being justified was that the British imposed high taxes on them.…show more content…
The soldiers simply just fired shots at them because they were defending themselves. Document four defines a British viewpoint of the New Englanders spreading anti-British propaganda. They boycotted the conduct of every tradesman for their products such as tea. If you were caught purchasing any of the products you were tarred and feathered. That then led to the Boston tea party were the American colonists dumped the tea into the harbor destroying the mother county's property. The British took action and closed down the harbor. They also had the colonists pay for the tea and had a quartering act put in place (troops stay in private homes of colonists). Therefore the American colonist were not justified because during the massacre the soldiers were defending themselves and they had to pay for their actions of the Boston tea party. In conclusion the British were not justified and able to break away from Britain. Documents one through four help to prove this true.
