Women’s Rights for the Win Gloria Steinem is a very proactive and resilient leader who has worked towards women’s rights for nearly her whole adulthood. Still present today, she is a writer, lecturer, editor, spokeswoman, and feminist activist. Steinem is highly educated; she “co-founded Ms. Magazine, and remained one of its editors for fifteen years” (gloriasteinem.com). There is much information about Gloria Steinem on the Official Website of Author and Activist Gloria Steinem, but not many know about her and what she was truly passionate for, equality in genders. In fact, she is introduced in the AP U.S. History textbook, but with only one to two sentences explaining what she did and what influenced her.
Her presidency would mark a historic presidential breakthrough for women. She would be a role model and inspiration for millions of women young and old in the world's top political power spot. There's the perception that she has the political savvy to wage the blood battles with a GOP-controlled Congress. There's also the political reality about the shape of a Clinton White House. She is a moderate, centrist Democrat who will give a hard nod to the interests of minorities, gays and women.
