These two causes may also lad to the rise of the problem. To begin with, I totally agree that lack of education may lead to alcohol abuse. In Mindy Sink’s article, she mentions that kids are away from home for the first time and not taught to drink responsibly. Parents and schools play an important role in educating their children and students. Since teenagers are immature to make their own decision, it is vital for adults to inculcate a correct attitude towards drinking.
Therefore, gang violence is ultimately eliminated. Gang violence inspires me to change the way society lives. All around the world, gang violence is a major problem that everybody should address; however, there is not really a lot of communication between schools and police departments to prevent gang violence in their communities. There is a lot of teen victims that have been influenced by these gang members which is saddening because they have practically ruined their lives. They eventually regret their awful decision.
In so many ways, teenage sex only has negative results including: pregnancy, sexual transmitted diseases, depression, and many others. Teenagers have a really hard time seeing the big picture in this world and think they know much more than they really do. Keeping teenagers from having sex is a hard task but is really important to keep our teenagers safe and free of negative impact.
As adolescents start to gain independence, understand relationships that work and do not work make it hard for parents to let them grow, but as the adolescent sees it, parents are trying to keep them from self-expression and trying to figure out how they fit into the world around them (Bass, 2009). Media does not help adolescents acknowledge success since the media portrays physical appearance as perfection and possessions as riches causing complicated issues among adolescents (Bass, 2009). As an adult we have all gone through angry days as a teen, but the one thing the author Lyman Bass (2009) explains in the article “Adolescent Anger Management” there are signs that are beyond usual. These signs are when adolescents become defiant by the request of others, is mean to parents and other adults who hold some authority. Another signs are adolescents who are loners, depressed, trouble with expressing emotions, have few friends, and certain events trigger them into violent behaviors.
Teens may be self-conscious of their delayed puberty a complication of Crohn’s disease. Additionally, a colostomy if required alters the teen’s identity because their appearance and body image becomes different from that of their peers. The overwhelming sensation of embarrassment that colostomy brings may be more difficult to deal with that the pain of the disease itself. Adolescents are conscious that they cannot just go swimming or participate in something as innocent as a sport where one team is skins and one is shirts, for the fear they will be on the skins team Crohn’s: Patient Education Plan 4 (Mackner, Sisson, & Crandell, 2005). The humiliation can be overwhelming
The main reason that many people do not think the age limit should change is that underage kids will not be able to handle the freedom and will cause problems all over the country. In addition, younger kids will be able to get alcohol easier than before because they will be able to talk to seniors in high school about getting alcohol. Which could be true for high school kids, because the kids of age can charge them and make money from it. That being said, it may be a bad idea for the drinking age to be lowered to
This behavior is already instilled into James because of his parents constant fighting; they seem to be paying more attention to their own needs instead of the needs of James. Strains will and can lead to crime because they reduce one’s level of social control (Agnew, 2008, p. 3). Strains often involve negative treatment by people such as parents, teachers, spouses, and employers (Agnew, 2008, p. 3). This treatment reduces the persons emotional bond and in conventional society; for example, getting low grades, loss of a job, divorce, and theft (Agnew, 2008, p.
Don’t Cross the Line Not knowing where the line is, can really drive people to the edge, literally. Bullying has become a part of everyday teenage life. Some people think of it as a joke and just mucking around until the victim decides they’ve had enough, and believe suicide is their only option. Kids don’t realise how severely the words they use can harm the people they aim it at that they cannot persuade them that they mean nothing. Social networks and websites have made it easier for kids to bully others anonymously and harshly.
Although an addict may feel as if they are freed from stress through their addiction, what isn’t taken into account is the amount of time before this stress returns. First, the addiction starts to change to morals and values of the addict, making it difficult to overcome their addiction. “The truth is, while a lack of morals is not to blame for our addictions, addictions are to blame for our compromise in morals” (How Addiction Effect our Morals, 2013). Meaning, addicts aren’t necessarily valueless. The addict has morals to begin with, but become so lost in the happiness their addiction provides them they begin to value their morals less.
They have a better way of dealing with certain situations. Their parents have taught them this. If a teenager is in care, this can be different because they haven’t been taught to deal with their emotions very well; there has been no one there to help them get through so they still act younger than they are. Emotionally, nature tells us that almost every teenager will have a rise in sexual hormones causing emotions to rocket and this cannot be help or affected by anything that may have happened to them. Socially, their friends are different.
