The two main female characters, Dr. Yang and Dr. Grey, are currently nationally recognized head surgeons and hospital chairpersons. Although the two females began as interns in season one, throughout the various seasons viewers have been given the opportunity to witness the boundless professional and individual growth of doctors. Through positive insight to their professional, romantic, and personal lives, each character has grown immensely. In season one, aired in 2005, although the best friends did not have much decisional, political, and operational power as they have come to earn in the later season, as interns, Meredith and Cristina are required to defer to their superiors in the hospital who are sometimes males and are sometimes their romantic partners (Grey's Anatomy). Meredith and Cristina still demonstrate decisional, political, and operational control of situations at points over the course of the series despite their lower level of hierarchy in the hospital.
He is almost kicked out entirely, isn’t. Patch did not like the way patients were being treated in med school. He didn’t find it fair that they couldn’t be helped because of insurance reasons. Ewart was an American who had gotten a disease that causes his organs to shrink for a long time. He chose to die by euthanasia, to end his pain of his own accord finally. He said that Motoneuron disease made him tired and he had no will to live. If he was in so much pain by the disease, he would still want to live, but there were too much pain. From Steven Ertelt’s article, we knew that Ewart said, if he chose to live, he would suffer illness, but it did not mean he could cure the disease and have a new life (2008).
I have personal experience with learning about these two jobs- I shadowed numerous orthopedic sports medicine surgeons and physician’s assistants during my senior year of high school as part as an academic internship. I observed many different surgeries and watched how these doctors interacted with all kinds of patients. This internship got me interested in these two careers, which is why I picked them for my research. An orthopedic surgeon operates on patients with musculoskeletal problems- either degenerative, traumatic, congenital, or just plain-old injuries. According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons ,half of what an orthopedic surgeon’s practice is geared towards are non-surgical, and the other half surgical management.

When I left the hospital I would begin an aggressive chemotherapy for at least the next six months. I was worried about losing my job than about the treatment. Unbelievably, however, I was granted long-term disability with pay. This relief allowed me to engage in what I love: reading. I decided I would use my convalescence to learn a new hobby, something engaging and something I could share.
Registered Nurse The career I chose was a registered nurse which is part of the Health Science field. I became interested in this field when I entered high school. My sister influenced this in a way because she is an RN. She showed me all the interesting things they had learned and got to do. Also when I was in the hospital I saw what the nurses did and I thought it was pretty interesting.
University of Phoenix Material Personal Philosophy of Nursing Worksheet This is a philosophy of nursing that reflects the beliefs and values of your name Today’s date is October 14, 2010 I chose nursing as my profession because nursing is about caring for others in their time of greatest need. It is one of few professions in which you can go home each day and be happy for what you did. Although you may not realize it, but you have affected the patient’s life in some way. Nursing is about healing and curing the patient’s symptoms of disease or illness. In my nursing class, I learned that doctors cure the sickness and nurses cure the patient.
My Clinical Experience as a Student Practical Nurse My clinical experience has been a life changing experience for me. I have found that working in a long term care with aging adults provided several memorable clinical opportunities. It enlightened me about the special needs of people at this developmental stage. The importance of human contact for the elderly was very obvious in the center. Often many of these people had few visitors because family and relatives had passed away or they were unable to visit because of other responsibilities.
