“Bullying is a big problem that effects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on it’s receiving end” (Lyness 1). Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.
Persuasive essay Don’t Teach the Test Students all around the world are subjected into giving ‘standardized tests’ to evaluate their place in this world. Standardized tests have come to a point where they run the lives of students and teachers alike. The point here is to convey the misuse of today’s standardized testing and its impact on young minds. Standardized testing has come to be known as a “core issue in education” (Silverstein 1). Students are shown to have increased stress levels due to testing, for them it has become the ill fate of ‘all or nothing’.

In despair his mother kills herself and Oedipus rips out his own eyes. Antigone is the story about Oedipus’ children and the superstition that follows this cursed family line. Creon is the brother of Oedipus, so he is more frightened from the superstitions that follow his brothers’ family line than anyone else. The act that triggers this fear, which sets forth the destruction of not only Antigone but his own family as well, is the murder of Antigone’s brothers. This instills fear in Creon because he fears that the sins from the father (Oedipus) will carry over to the children and in turn hurt his newly received kingdom and family.
Web. 11 June 2012. Judith Warner wrote an articled titled “Parents Created This Problem, and Must Address It,” where she tackles the continually dangerous and rising issue of students who are using drugs to make them focus in school and on school work. I just do not understand why the main focus of our education has to be all about test. I feel as if my classmates and I were like lab rats, being used for discovery and research, just so the school can gain recognition and reap the rewards for producing good test scores. Many districts use strict curricula’s that publishing companies produce to “promise” outstanding grades if you buy their products and complete them all. When you try to force that on the teachers, it is frustrating to them because they have the freedom of teaching taken away from them and are given a set of rules to produce better test results. Because many teachers and other educators are being forced to move away from teaching in their own preferred style, they must follow a set pace so that their instruction to the students is to what the district mandates instead of responding to the students need.
the time, money, and energy the NEA puts into issues like same sex marriage, abortions, homosexuality, womens rights, etctra, is excessive when we have students graduating who have great difficult with reading or struggle with basic math skills. the NEA's powerful hold on education today leaves them mostly responsible for the holes we have in our education. it is not only the faulty curriculum, but most importantly the failing teachers who the NEA hides, defends, supports, and so on; sticking by their constant cry of not enough pay, however is that an excuse to pass students who should have been held back years ago? the most disturbing problem with the NEA is when they brag about the success of their million dollar programs that are supposed to increase reading and writing skills, math skills, and overall education; the issue occurs when barely a quarter of students show positive results. how can anyone boast and petition funds for programs that are not

Rakow also points out “That responsibility includes promotions to the next grade, and future funding for their school. Some students get so worked up about the test they can’t even get through it (par.3).
Also I think that middle school students are under a lot of pressure. I say that because we have more events in middle school and if your work is not done you will not be able to attend the events that they have planned for us. I think that all of the stress and pressure is coming from the teachers and parents. I say that because parents want their kids to do good and kids try so hard to make their parents proud and end up stressing
