He was locked in an apartment where his only connection to the outside world was a television. Being desperate to free himself from torture and misery, he tried to escape and even committed suicide but these were just disappointments. He endured all of these for 15 long years and as a result, all he had on his mind was seeking for vengeance. After which, he met a chef named Mi Do who helped him in seeking for the truth. Then, he was led to Lee Woo Jin (Evergreen), the cause of his suffering who invited him in a game that had Mi Do’s life in line. He was tasked to discover Evergreen’s identity and the cause of his grave suffering. When Dae Su returned to Woo Jin bringing with him answers, he thought that he had the upper hand but his audacity for vengeance turned suddenly to a blur when he knew the greater truth. Furthermore, Dae Su realizes that life was indeed a bigger prison. Review Chanwook Park places most of the important details at the end of the film.
