Honest Abe Abraham Lincoln is famous for wearing the tallest hats, but was most influential for his accomplishment for reuniting the country. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 near Hodgenville, Kentucky. As a child, he was a bibliophile. The white house took in his wife, and two young sons, because one of them had pasted away. His political party was Republican serving only two terms, as he was assassinated on April 15, 1865. Abraham Lincoln is the most influential President in the United States because he put and kept the union from Civil war, enacted the Homestead Act, and crafted the thirteenth amendment, which ended slavery. He called for the end of slavery in his Emancipation Proclamination. Many states did not agree, which encountered from a massive number of threats. He crafted the thirteenth amendment which ended slavery. Slavery was having blacks basically owed as the whites. African Americans were being sold like properties and treated worse than animals. He promoted Freedom and unity. Blacks and Whites may have not got the same privileges as others, but being free to move on and continue life was granted. Abraham Lincoln was the most influential president, ever known in America. Teaching his self the practice of law, he earned the nick name “Honest Abe”. Regardless, he broke the laws, to keep his promise of protecting and keeping the union together. Also, making sure that families do not have to invite the ones obtruding into their home. Abe, was first to craft an amendment which makes everyone get their freedom. Abraham Lincoln is so influential, that everyone in civics one, are choosing him for this essay.
