Homosexuality Many people try to make homosexuality a black and white issue. Is it right or is it wrong? It is not that simple. There are many shades of grey. While lots of people have had homosexual experiences, that does not make them homosexual. Humans are by nature curious and sexual beings so it is not a surprise that heterosexual men and women have homosexual experiences. While there are many different studies on how many people are homosexual, I chose the National Health and Social Life Survey (NHSLS) to be most accurate. The surveys purpose “was designed to be a representative and current survey of adult sexual behavior in the United States”. (NHSLS) This survey used “an area probability sample of 3,432 respondents” and was collected in 1992. The NHSLS “found that 8.6% of women and 10.1% of men reported any adult same-gender sexuality. Of the women reporting some same sex gender sexuality, 88% reported same-gender sexual desire, 41% reported some same-gender sexual behavior, and 16% reported a lesbian or gay identity. Of the men, reporting some same-gender sexuality, 75% reported same-gender sexual desire, 52% reported same-gender sexual behavior, and 27% reported a gay identity”. (NHSLS) There are different views of homosexuality to consider. One being sin. On the topic of homosexuality, one has to consider the biblical views. Leviticus 18:22 clearly states “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination”. Also in the Old Testament, don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgement. We cant say all homosexuals who profess Christ don't think their sin is wrong are just going to burn. That is just rediculous. The reality is that there are
