“A Modest Proposal” Social Satire Essay People question why some people tend to be homeless. Well most of the time it’s because they can’t afford a home to stay in. In many cases homeless people live out in the street with no protection from the predators that lurk outside. The lucky ones get shelter and barley survive. Los Angeles has the highest number of homeless people in the United States, estimated at 73,000 in 2008. Somewhere between five and 10 percent of them are living in vehicles. Homelessness has become a big problem in the society that we live in. To reduce this problem we can give the homeless people another chance to get back on there feet. It may be there fault that there homeless but in this world we help the people that are unfortunate. In this world today, a person who is homeless may face violations of the right to an adequate standard of living, the right to education, the right to liberty and security of the person, the right to privacy, the right to social security, the right to freedom from discrimination, the right to vote, and many more. Another main problem that homeless people deal with is medical care, with poor medical care there is a better chance they can contain unknown disease that is not fightable. The society that we live in today has been known to disease that can not be cured. In order to reduce this problem we can give the homeless and the unfortunate a sanitary place to stay. We already have lots of people who die from diseases and thus we don’t need to lose more people because of our government lack of care for the homeless. Every day there’s a crime committed against homeless people. Did you that Sixty-eight percent out of 137 people have been a victim of a violent attack since they've became homeless. Some solutions that we have is to shoot all the homeless people but that would be a bad solution because we would be
