Children are hindered by these kinds of schools, teachers and peers lay a big role in the children’s lives. Some teachers are there for the income it will bring into their house hold and not the well-being of the child and students are pressued by their peers into thinking that education is lame and for losers. In most cases this is what children of low income go through but not all. Many may not realize that the surroundings of children may sometimes affect their future. Being raised in a low income area surrounded by people living the same lifestyle as you as if struggling is the norm of society.
Early education programs such as, the Head Start program was on top of the list for budget cuts. That would affect the kick start to learning that has been around for generations of young learners to take advantage of. Most American families are in favor of having an early learning program in their community. Studies show that kids the kids that participate in an early learning program develop a greater aptitude for learning and are accepted to better universities. Seems like the GOP does not understand that even though the average family can’t afford to send their kids to a top tier university does not mean they do not want to take advantage of early learning.
School uniforms can also be a very uncomfortable fashion that students would not take a liking to. They also won’t be the “quick fix” that many people think they are. The first reason uniforms should not be required is that most schools across the country believe uniforms take away from an individual’s identity, so they don't require their students wear them. In today's world a person’s identity and having a good sense of self is important to the diversity that Americans have shown in the past. In schools that require uniforms the student body all look like the same person, very bland and boring people.
These families do not work a typical 9-5, this does not mean that they are not involved with their children’s school. They do what they can, when they can. Or they may only have one vehicle between two parents, and job schedules conflict. Just because they aren’t at every event, don’t rule them out based on negative assumptions. I would recommend revising the school choice provision of the No Child Left Behind Act in order to enable the mobility of students to schools located outside of their district. By doing so, many of the children within the working class would have the option to attend a school where they could receive the same opportunities as those of their high-born

Personally school systems from my perspective are not at the best they can be. The concern of all students and the education they receive seems to be very low. The law “No students left behind”, needs to be enforced more than it has been previously and as it is being enforced today. The film Waiting For Superman addressed the fact that a lot of students do not have the opportunity to get a good education, so there for students are being left behind.
With so many public schools reporting failing scores each year, it is no wonder why so many parents opt to remove their children from the regular public school system and place them in public schools. However, as appealing as charter schools may seem, they are not always the best solution. Charter school systems have caused harm to public school systems in that they provide some students with an unfair advantage over others, compete with local school districts for federal and state funds, and offer little to no accountability.
One way the charter school does this, is by having lower classroom sizes. In public schools the “average class size, number of students, is 26.1” (Socias, 2007, p.42) while most charter school stay around “19.8 students” (Beek, 2012) and have aids to come in and help when their class goes over their number that the school has choose. Another option that charter schools offer families is 2-5 homeschool days, mixed days with homeschool and classrooms or just 5 full days in a classroom with a teacher. Charter schools have more flexibility than conventional public schools in exchange for being held to additional standards to make sure they are meeting their student goals. Studies show that charter school students make greater academic progress than students in traditional public schools.

Do children really need an education and if they do are they in school too long? This question causes many different reactions from me because I see endless possibilities with schooling and without a financial barrier I would attend school for the rest of my life. As a working adult, who has little time, I often think that schooling goes on for too long.
