Unit1. Assignment 1. Home Computer Analysis
Since my home computer was purchased in 2002 and being the new XP operating system of the time. The parameter of the system according to the text book is slow at being 512 megabyte system memory. The processor will more than likely do for the overall system performance at 1 GHz requirement of Windows 7 products as listed. Any upgrades will still require to first running an upgrade advisor to confirm if it is possible to upgrade with a migration, or clean install, it may not even be possible to run Windows 7 on this computer. Having this computer this long without any upgrade knowledge of newer technology products such as multi-core processors, 1 GHz System Memory, and the complete wireless system, this computer is a dinosaur by today’s standards. The basis of this computer is still good and can be used for other applications such as surveillance purposes with the internal hard drive used to record audio and video, even just basic household economics support to storing music library and home pictures. The computer is salvageable for an upgrade to Windows 7 product with more investigation into cost effectiveness when money is not an option but is it logical to do, perhaps. Buying a modern computer (one that is up to date 2014 style), is the way to go for now since technology has left this computer behind in so many ways. I believe XP Systems will not go out of style even for years to come, a good decade still, with so many of them out there they compatible for most home use applications and more. Boo-ya.
