Holi is a famous Hindu festival. It is also known as Dola. It falls in the month of March. It marks the beginning of the Spring season and this is the most beautiful season of the year . This festival celebrates the death of the Ogress Holika at the hands of Lord Krishna. This signifies the defeat of bad over good and this festival generally is full of fun and frolic. All men , women and children wear white clothes and join in the sprinkling of colors. Differences are forgotten, Enmity does not find a place. All are friends join the fun. The use of colors likes abir (yellow) and gulal (red) are extensive. Till noon the singing and dancing go on with no restrictions whatsoever. Buckets of color water are sprinkled. Youngsters play till they are completely drenched in color. Satire, irony and abuse are freely used with no offence. The mirth is over by noon. After a rich meal of special dishes like bhang, sweets and rice people go to meet their friends and relations. To celebrate holi in their houses and have fun all day they also play different games with friends and family. That evening bonfires are lit in some place and family and friends start singing songs and celebrating the end of holi. It is not a festival of colors but also a festival of unity and friendship. All barriers like caste, creed, position, and language are forgotten and men and women join The fun. There are a lot of environmental concerns about holi because the colors they use are very harmful for the body and it degrades the land environmentalists also think that people waste a lot water on holi. This festival had nothing bad in the beginning. Now it has become unholy and unpleasant because People go over bounds and behave in an indecent way. I hope there are some reforms because a lot of them stopped celebrating holi because of this, and I hope to celebrate
