The Advanced Apprenticeship is made up of several parts, each part relating to a particular area of Health & Social Care (HSC): Qualification structure: To gain the Diploma part the learner must gain minimum of 58 credits. 28 credits come from the mandatory units (Group A). At least a further 30 credits must be achieved through optional group B/C. The qualification accommodates 3 different progression pathways; Generic, dementia and adults with learning difficulties. Generic Pathway: A minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from optional units in Group B. At least 23 credits from the optional units in Group C. Dementia Pathway: A minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from optional units in Group B, but must complete: DEM301 Understand the process and experience of dementia. At least 23 credits from the optional units in Group C but one of the following must be completed: DEM304, DEM312 or DEM313. Adult With Learning Disabilities Pathway: A minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from optional units in Group B, but must complete: LD201 Understand the context of supporting and individual with learning disabilities.
