In 1938, his brother-in-law, Hans von Dohnanyi, introduced him to the group seeking to Overthrow Hitler. Bonhoeffer continued his work for the resistance movement under the cover of his employment in Germany's Military Intelligence Department, which was a centre of the resistance. In 1942 he flew to Sweden to tell British government the conspirators' proposals for a peace; these proposals were unfortunately rejected.
