The Breakfast Of Champions? It is said that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day if not the most important. During your 6-8 hours of sleep your body goes through a period of starvation. This period of starvation is continued when the first meal of the day is missed. Not only does your body remain in the starvation mode, your body is being deprived of vital nutrients that are needed for proper function and maintenance. With so much variety and bigger portion sizes, choosing a healthy breakfast is more difficult now than ever. The purpose of this Presentation is to critically analyze the nutritional content of one of Americans Oldest Breakfast Cereals to the Modern day version recently introduced to the market. Both of Wheaties and the Wheat Fuel Brand are breakfast cereals geared towards supporting and promoting athletic performance through the participation of sports. From the various athletes on the cover, to the famous “THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS” slogan Wheaties Brand has represents what athletes have endorsed as one of the top choices for a energy promoting breakfast. The original Wheaties brand and the Fuel brand share many of the same ingredients in its contents. Comprised mainly of Whole Grain Wheat, both are measured in _ cup servings. In that _ cup the Fuel brand cereals weights a total 55 grams while the Wheaties is 27 grams. The Fuel servings are twice as dense. This provides a much more filling start to the day for its consumers. The Kcalories in the Wheaties brand is 100 per serving. The Wheaties Fuel is 210 per serving, more than twice as many Calories as the Wheaties brand. The Fuel brand continued its tradition of eliminating saturated fats and cholesterol.
