Early photography was used in many ways. One very popular application of photography was to replicate works of art or make it easier for artists to trace a subject. Photographic books were created, documenting botanical specimens and even portrait work. As portrait photography became popular, photographers experimented with numerous subjects one subject being the dead. Before being able to permanently record an exact photographic image artists used the camera obscura to help with their drawing.
After that, I drew rays from the marks of the refracted light on the glass to the center. 8. Lastly measured and recorded the angles of refracted light
Every day you take in hundreds of thousands of images, that at one point a photographer thought out and planned exactly how they felt it should be viewed. Photography is a very important element in today’s visual consumer society, while when it first evolved it was just a rare form of art used to document an important person or place in history. Before photography became an actual form of art and technology philosophers discovered optics between the fourth and fifth century. (Stead) Optics is the way light works and interacts with matter. This discovery started photography’s long journey through centuries of improvement and common knowledge.
In simplest of terms, these mediums provide us with information. We as humans then use the information as the basis for many of our decisions and standpoints on issues. There is no doubt that this information is significant and enlightening, but what most people do not consciously realize is how mass media is also highly persuasive. While some educated persons may see this in television programs, magazines and newspapers, there is a forgotten medium, which has a deep impact everyday on all of society. This medium touches the lives of every nation, of every culture, of every economic and every social class on a daily basis and has done so throughout history; music.
Social media sites can benefit everyone at least one time or another during one time or another in their lives. There are many advantages and benefits to social media such as musicians being able to promote their music to thousands of people and meet new artists, whether their local artists or across the world, companies can advertise their business and products,
Competitive Capabilities: Prior to 1990s Kodak had invested huge in R&D. Moreover, its century of innovation and development of photographic images gave Kodak tremendous depth of understanding of recording and processing images. Central to Kodak’s imaging capability was its color management capability. In the digitizing color and transferring digital images to paper, Kodak possessed a powerful set of complementary technologies in sensing, color management and thermal printing. Market advantage: Through its wider distribution network, it has been able to maintain a huge market coverage and accessibility. It had worldwide distribution presence - primarily through retail photography stores, film processors, and professional photographers.
In 1925 he created and named the Leica camera (combination of Leitz and camera) and it was an immediate and ultimate success. The small format 35mm camera revolutionised the field of photography and led to the creation of a high percentage of unforgettable images that have expanded and influenced our perception of people and events in the world. During the 1920’s and 30’s photojournalism took off during the war and the Leica camera captured many unforgettable images taken by war photographers during the war. (Masoner, 2012) The 35mm camera impacted greatly on many of the photographers’ composition due to it being a portable device. It was adapted for still photography in the 20th century and has remained popular since.
Investigating the various phenomena which occur when monochromatic light undergoes diffraction Title: Determine the wavelength of a monochromatic light source (laser). Measure the groove spacing of a CD and the diameter of powder spores using diffractive methods. Aim: The aims of this experiment are to determine the wavelength of the monochromatic light source and to determine the groove spacing of a CD and the diameter of the Lycopodium powder. Introduction: There are three parts to this experiment in the first part a diffraction grating is used to diffract light from a laser (monochromatic source of light). By measuring the angles of diffraction and by calculating the grating spacing, the wavelength of the light may be calculated.
Society create culture, and culture brings impact on society. Photography became very common nowadays, because it’s a kind of communication. Photographs are the evidence of history of our society. And the history changed into culture. That’s one of the way how we can understand the history.
Clearly, this system reduced exposure time immensely and allowed it to be preserved for much longer as well. In 1847, George Eastman created a method using spools of paper coated in emulsions of silver salts and gelatin ("Eastman, George"). Soon enough, people all over the world could own a camera no matter their age or skill. Eastman advertised his Kodak camera with the phrase, "You press the button-we do the rest!" and the camera gained increasing popularity.
