Students might not be comfortable with the idea of YRS at first. Many students' first reaction is the "horrible" thought of "losing" their summer vacations. Really, no one is "losing" the time they get away from school; it is just being spread out over a longer period of time, which is in the students' own best interests. But during this economic recession, college students have been having a difficult time staying in the college path, especially working class students. The lack of moral support from their families prevents these unfortunate students to finish their college education. The increase of college tuition and limited financial aid are causing students to go into debt, making them hesitant whether they should keep studying or not. Also it’s preventing students from picking needed major but because the low paycheck they are not sure if they will be able to be sustained. But college drop outs also can able be due to the unequal college preparation given in high schools.
As well as “The making new friends” challenge. I mean why bother making new friends if you are going to lose them each year? But in the other hand, you should expect (and accept) the diversity of people. What to expect from college is not really something to specific. For example, many of us weren’t really use to studying during high school, mainly because it was so unchallenging.
If a student can graduate from high school with 15-20 college credits already this would cut down on the amount of time spent in college thus saving the student money. Although this seems like a good idea that reality of this is going to be very difficult. High Schools have certain credit hours their students have to achieve and let’s face it; the average high school student does not have the grades to take Advanced Placement classes. This could just further discourage some student from even attending college at all or even going as far as dropping out of high school because they are not able to achieve the required 15-20 college credit
DO NOT overspend. While you’re in college most likely you are going to using your own things like your own credit, debit and everything else. While it’s tempting you can’t let it get to you (the overspending). Remember your using your credit and what better way to build it than in college. Building your credit starts in college if you begin to buy all these things you can’t afford and turn around and not have the ability to pay them off at the end of the month then you’re your credit will begin to decline and that’s not good.

Kids are raised to believe that after high school they will go to college. Some kids go to college because they want to prove their parents wrong while others go to get the education. Whatever the reason, the value of a four year college is worth the amount you pay. On average the amount a student pays for college ranges from $8,655 to $29,056 per year which is a lot of money, but college provides education, opens tons of doors for career options, and college graduates earn more than kids that don’t have a degree.

Without the completion of coursework, students would receive zeros for all of their missing work, which would cause them to fail. “A” students might miss the occasional assignment, but still finish the course with a good grade. “F” students would likely miss multiple assignments. These students might have been able to turn in late work in high school, resulting in them thinking that college would be the same way. However, most professors have no tolerance for late work.
And the number one answer I could think of right off the back was to make that money. Nowadays, student around my age only think about going to college in order to be successful finically, not just for an education. Although some choose to learn far beyond the classroom, many students fail to take the time to go into deeper thinking to figure things out for themselves. I believe education is a tool that a person obtains through many years of development and learning, and will be continuously employed throughout the duration of their lives. Growing up, my mom pretty much told me that if I was not joining the military then I was for sure going to college.
If you are not positive on exactly what you want to do in life yet a year is more than enough to research jobs. You could even pick your job you want and study up on it a little before you enter college to begin studying for it. If you find yourself not having the time to consider all your options you could find yourself stuck in a job that really is not meant for you. In this year off you can use it to find stability in your own life. You could find an apartment of your own.
