Describe own role and responsibilities and those of others in the team My role of a Teaching Assistant is extremely important in the class room. I am there to support the pupils and the teacher in charge as well as other staff working in the school. A teaching assistant is responsible for preparing the class room ready for the day ahead as well as clearing the classroom after the school day. The Teaching assistant is required to float between pupils helping them to confidently complete their work and tasks set. We are also required to sometimes work with individual groups of pupils on set tasks or individually with pupils who need one to one support.
Corruption in Education Many students come to college to experience a new way of life and to form a new understanding of the world. They rely on their professors to provide them with the information necessary to achieve their goals. A classroom is most beneficial to a student when there is no ignorance or closed-mindedness. If the professor teaches both sides of issues and allows the class to debate topics without manipulating the students to believe what the professor believes, it gives the students all the tools they need to succeed in that specific class and in the future. It means that students can take responsibility for some of their own progression. Students can ask themselves what am I learning and how can I do it better. I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
Race to the Top discusses the goal of this new curriculum is to prepare students for college and success in their careers. The new rigorous standards will be implemented in every classroom and these standards will set the stage of what students are expected to know at the conclusion of each grade level. The Common Core State Curriculum will equip students with problem solving, critical thinking, and other skills that prepare them for college or careers in the 21st century. The main issues with the implementation of this change is the success rate of students in the low achieving schools and the implications on special education. The rigorous standards are continuous from school to school and are defined with essential skills students should know (MSDE,2012).
The conventions of college writing are very complex and if professors are more helpful and patient with first year students as they learn academic discourse, students will be better prepared for all future academic endeavors and they will have a better opportunity to strengthen and develop their voice. The realization is that it is up to the student to put in the work and have the desire to educate them-selves. This makes it very possible to ether learn a very large amount from a class or a very small amount. High school is a much different atmosphere. Teachers are put under guidelines for student achievements; this at times causes the teachers to nurture the students. There are thousands of teaching styles professors and teachers use.
All along educational institutions had played an important role in providing all that skills that people will use in the future. At present time, there are many kinds of educational institutions like high school and college. Even though high school and college offer knowledge to students and prepare them for the future, there are some important differences between them that make them different kind of institutions.
