Julia Finkenthal Mrs. Hannan Honors English 10 6 March 2014 My Favorite Meal The sun was shining, as I breathed in the first breath of the morning, taking in the scent of garlic, parsley, and fresh made, white-dough, bread, with a paper thin layer of butter on top, oozing of the sides, onto the plate itself. I knew it was going to be a good, sun shining, bird chirping, day of summer. “There is no love sincerer than the love of food”, voiced George Bernard Shaw. Dinner dishes replace all other meals including breakfast and lunch because of the astounding taste. All over the country is different genres of food such as Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Jewish and more. Although some are more popular than others, it seems to be that Italian is quite popular. With Italian food, you vary from different types of breads to pastas to meat. For example, chicken fettuccine; its necessity consists of a magnificent sauce, tender chicken, and mixed vegetables. This blend of ingredients contributes the flavor, texture, and appearances of this extravagant pasta. Although the sauce isn’t an attractive color, with a dull white including drops of Grey from mushrooms and small indefinite amount of green from the broccoli of which is later added. The creamy fettuccine sauce itself is so tantalizing it’s truly what I call the cream of the crop. Added to the sauce is a mixture of mozzarella, ricotta, and provolone cheese along with sautéed mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. As I twirl the fork of noodles against the spoon, the expectation of silky smooth noodles gliding down my throat salivates the glands on my tongue. While eating such a well desired meal it’s certainly easy to forget my manners, weather its at home or fine dinning I’m always caught of guard slurping the noodles so fast that the sauce ends up on my face. I do use napkins but remember I’m lost into my dream world. The
