Recommend the redesign of Hershey’s performance management system to appeal to the diverse groups that it employs. Performance management system is the process of creating a work environment or setting in which people are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities. Performance management is a whole work system that begins when a job is defined as needed. It ends when an employee leaves the organization. A performance management system includes the following actions. a. Develop clear job descriptions. b. Select appropriate people with an appropriate selection process. c. Negotiate requirements and accomplishment-based performance standards, outcomes, and measures. d. Provide effective orientation, education, and training. e. Provide on-going coaching and feedback. f. Conduct quarterly performance development discussions. g. Design effective compensation and recognition systems that reward people for their contributions. h. Provide promotional/career development opportunities for staff. i. Assist with exit interviews to understand why valued employees leave the organization. With these parameters in mind, we can recommend the new performance management system in the following terms. Hershey is ONE company where everyone is aligned on a single target "positively impact the world" to do so every day we strive to maintain the best relations with our members who are growing together in an environment of integrity to positively impact everything we do. From our beginnings each of us settled for one respecting our individuality and preferences but united in one desire, to do what we do best. Our values are: diversity, growth, integrity and unity, to develop a social conscience that will prevail for many generations.
