It was very striking for me to stand in a small damp, dark and dreary cell. With the knowledge that many men had spent there last night on earth waiting to get shot in the morning. It so incomparable how could one man knowingly sentence another man from his own side to die for simply being scared. I know I could never shot another man ever. Never mind the circumstances.

Together we can reflect on the fact that the kind of life that we enjoy today results from the sacrifice of many men and women that lived before

Did you know that on September 11, 2001 four passenger planes were hijacked by terrorists? This event is very significant to me for the following reasons, First, it was a very unexpected attack towards the U.S. Second, it killed approximately about 3,000 people. Lastly, it affected a variety amount of people mentally & emotionally. This attack was viewed by millions of people on live television. The attack was labeled "the most lethal terrorism in human experience."
People all over the country were totally in shock of the extreme events that were occurring. To the typical American citizen, it seemed the attacks were in every way random, so you can only imagine what was on the radio and TV seemed like to an 8 year old. Never the less, the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 gave me an experience that I'm happy to have had as a child, it gave me an understanding of horrible things people can and will do out of fear, jealousy, and revenge. Attending St. Johns the Evangelist, I was only in second grade and pretty much isolated from the rest of the world. I don't even think I knew all the capitals or even all 50 states in general.
