Wood also analyzes Obama’s use of references in his election night speech. He discusses how “Behind his speech were the ghosts of Lincoln’s First Inaugural” (610) as well as “the explicit reference to King’s famous phrase about how ‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice’” (611). Both discussions of Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. are included to show how Obama believed his election to be a turning point in history as Lincoln and King’s speeches were a turning point in their time period as well. It was imperative for Safire and Wood to discuss the allusions to others’ speeches in both of their analysis as without the references to others’ speeches both Lincoln and Obama’s speeches would not have had the impact and power that they did. I agree with several points that this article makes. The first one being that translation is by nature is imperfect. To my way of thinking, translations are best conveyed with the reader is able to grasp the same emotions/connections that were intended by the original author. Language barriers play a huge role in translation because often, it is limited to the words that are common to both languages and the test are just depictions of the translators interpretation of the text. The Text states that Moliere wrote many different types of plays and they were well known for their timeless characters, which is still well known.

Summary of Chapter 3 of the APA Publication Style, 6th Edition Summary of Chapter 3 of the APA Publication Style, 6th Edition Chapter 3 of the APA Manual, “Writing Clearly and Concisely,” discusses the key components of sound expository writing. The main ideas focus on the importance of organizational structure, clear communication, and necessary attention to reducing bias through chosen language. Writers will be judged by the care and attention the writers give to the form and presentation of the writer’s written work as well as the writer’s mastery and use of ideas. Most instructors believe that unorganized, misspelled papers with grammatical errors reflect uncritical thinking. The notion of the length of a manuscript needing to be only “the number of
Skrzynecki has struggled to come to terms with his cultural identity and his sense of belonging. Skrzynecki seems to have had a sudden intuitive leap of understanding of what he must do to find himself. Once he finds himself he will be able to belong. The supplementary text I will be using is a BBC documentary, “Who do you think You Are?” The text explores the relationship between cultural identity and the concept of belonging. For Natasha Kaplinsky, a British news presenter and her distant cousin, Benny, the need to revisit the past; to engage with their cultural background is again very important.
Jerry Deng Ms. Davis English 3 9 January 2013 One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich Alexander Solzhenitsyn To continue our work of author’s style, we will look at the language of this text. Author’s style can deal with diction, sentence fluency, and voice. All three elements give the readers an insight into the characters, the author and the time period. Solzhenitsyn masterfully creates a contrast between the world of Ivan Denisovich and Ivan’s feelings about this world. Through the quotes listed below, we will annotate and analyze Solzhenitsyn’s diction and the effect it has on the reader.
Present the parts of each question in order. When formatting numbers in Excel, display only as many decimal places as needed to provide decision-making value to the reader (usually fewer than you would think), make sure the numbers are aligned

I sent word by carrier pigeon on the Monday prior to leaving and told Tim to meet me at the airport on Friday. He called later that day and said, “Mama, you trying to be funny, you know I can’t go!” And I said okay and continued to pack and pray for my son (**you see Timothy lives in another house, it’s called ‘‘prison’’) As the week progressed, the Holy Spirit said, ‘’Come, with me’’… And if you’ve ever spent any time alone with the Lord, you know you don’t ask questions, just follow His lead…. Well God walked me thru the steps and I knew exactly what I needed to do to carry Tim with me and when I left His presence, I could only praise His Holy Name …. (Thank You Holy Spirit, thank you Lord .) ……Well we’re at the point now where I tell my story and Timothy tells his.
