According to West Virginia Rural Healthy Aging Network (2011), “Healthy aging is the development and maintenance of optimal mental, social, and physical well-being and function in older adults. This will most likely be achieved when communities are safe, promote health and well-being and use health services and community programs to prevent or minimize disease.” The world is getting grey rapidly and thus increased need for proper awareness and programs related to healthy ageing are required. While the developing countries are facing double threats from both infectious and non-communicable diseases due to lack of sufficient resources, developed countries are well advanced and already becoming affluent to tackle the problem. Practically and efficiently achieving the vision of healthy ageing is very important for Australia as its population is aging at an un-precedent pace. The large baby boom cohort comprises a major part of Australian society and by 2050 one-fourth of the people will be above age of 65. Proper plans, interventions, and programs for healthy ageing can benefit both the individual and entire Australia as a society. People especially from ethnic minority or low socio-economic class must consult specialized help provided by community to get health literacy. Any individual suffering from any non-curable or difficult to treat condition must participate in ongoing clinical trials to achieve latest healthcare (Singer & Manton, 1998). The healthy ageing project must have a holistic approach and must include the activity of society, policy makers, and government along with the individual himself.
